Michael Gilbert has over 10 years of experience designing risk strategies to help card issuers reduce losses, while balancing the overall customer experience. Michael is currently the Head of Global Debit Card Risk at PayPal in San Jose, CA where he controls losses within PayPal’s overall strategy of providing low-cost financial services to the underserved, as well as expanding merchant debit cards internationally. Prior to PayPal, Michael has held a variety of card and personal loan risk strategy roles at First Hawaiian Bank, American Express, and Capital One. Michael is considered a subject matter expert on Cards and ACH risk.
