Simon Laker leads Consult Hyperion’s consulting practice across North America. He is a leading authority on the implementation of open payments systems in public transport. He worked with Transport for London and the Payment Brands to define operational and transaction models to support the use of payment cards. His work has subsequently been adopted and deployed globally.

Recently, he has helped transit authorities in Boston and New York to refine their requirements for a new ticketing service and select a vendor on behalf of the transit authority. Simon has 16 years’ experience of designing and implementing EMV-enabled solutions.
