
Dan Sanford
Head of Global Contactless Payments, Visa
Dan Sanford is the head of global contactless payments for Visa. In this role, he manages a cross-functional team that is responsible for migrating the U.S. to contactless. While Dan spends most of his time focused on the U.S. market, he also leads Visa’s overall contactless strategy around the world to ensure global alignment. Prior to this role, he was responsible for developing Visa’s future payment security roadmap. Dan also spent four years as part of Visa’s Global Corporate Initiatives team focused on innovation and payments security, including EMV, tokenization, and mobile payments. He was previously responsible for managing the U.S. EMV migration initiative.
Dan joined Visa in 2009, focusing on opportunities to grow acceptance and increase usage in new market segments. Following his role in acceptance, Dan joined the Consumer Product Strategy team, working on global debit development and product innovation.
Dan received his degree in Business from the University of Oregon, and holds an MBA from The Lundquist College of Business, University of Oregon.
